Recently, the Economic and Trade Commission of Guangdong Province, in accordance with MOFCOM’s unified deployment, has overcome difficulties and actively offered the quake-hit areas the counterpart assistance by purchasing the sluggish sale of fruits and vegetables produced there. According to incomplete statistics, from May 12 to June 14, Guangzhou Jiangnan Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market, Shenzhen Agricultural Products Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Hong Cheng Supermarket, A. Best and CR Vanguard have purchased more than 800 tons of fruits and vegetables directly from Wenchuan County, their coordinated counterpart. According to Guangdong Provincial Economic and Trade Commission, the next step shall continue to support the sales of fruits and vegetables from the following three aspects: first, Guangzhou Jiangnan Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market shall take the lead in coordinating and cooperating with the local quake-hit areas to form a promotion chain of fruit and vegetable sales; second, the role of China Chain Store & Franchise Association shall be brought into full play in guiding the large- and medium-sized supermarkets in Guangdong Province in purchasing and selling fruits and vegetables in the quake-hit areas; third, the working plan of matching production with sales shall be further broken down and implemented in order that the work pertinent to the sales promotion of the fruits and vegetables in the quake-hit areas can be properly done. |
