 On June 26, 2008, the National View-exchange Symposium on Pilot Projects of Constructing Rural Commercial Services Information System was convened in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. Vice Minister of Commerce Jiang Yaoping and Vice Governor of Fujian Province Ye Shuangyu attended the symposium and delivered speeches. Jiang required all localities to earnestly strengthen the administration of the rural commercial information service projects, expand the coverage of the rural commercial information services, aggregate technology development to promote the foresaid project, further probe into the effective methods of credit system construction, intensify the training strength to help more farmers to obtain the said services; and enhance the management in order that the construction outlay can be appropriately utilized. Since 2006, MOFCOM has implemented the rural commercial information service project based on the Rural Business Web to develop the biz-matching information service online and offline. More than 5 million tons of agricultural and side-line products were sold under such promotion, with the transaction turnover exceeding RMB 12 billion yuan, and a service scope covering over 50, 000 villages in over 780 counties in 30 provinces (autonomous regions/municipalities) throughout the country. Over 120 representatives of the commercial departments from 20 pilot provinces (autonomous regions/municipalities) across the country were present at the symposium. |
