From July 2-3, Minister of Commerce Chen Deming and his team paid a special visit to Zhejiang Province for studying the commercial operations in the first half of 2008. Chen and his team held a symposium on the current situation with Zhenjiang Provincial government, Wenzhou, Taizhou municipal governments, etc, and relative industrial associations and enterprises. The on-the-spot visit was also paid to such enterprises as Delixi Group, Kangnai Group, GSP Autoparts, Hongda Bag and Case Factory, Tengxu Garment, etc. Minister Chen expressed that China’s commercial operations maintain a generally favorable situation starting from 2008. But as the obviously increasing unstable factors in the current international economic environment, the world economic growth slowed down. The lasting price rise of mineral products like oil and food leads to the worldwide inflation and brings difficulties to domestic macro control and commercial development. MOFCOM earnestly listened to the opinions and proposals reported by the local governments, industrial associations and enterprises, and made efforts in creating a laudable situation for the stable development of commercial work. Chen said that Zhejiang boasts strong economic power and enterprise competitiveness, and that, faced with the changes of international economic environment, we should continue to carry forward the entrepreneurial spirit, be massively engaged in exploration and innovations, accelerate the structural readjustment and actively respond to challenges.. MOFCOM shall continue to provide support and services for enterprises to “go global” and tackle trade friction. Zhong Shan, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, and Assistant Minister of Commerce Lu Jianhua also participated in thesurvey. Lu and his team also paid a study visit to the enterprises concerned in Taizhou, Ningbo, etc, and held a symposium for foreign trade enterprises. |
